One minute you’re a young in a fantasy world, discovering a glass relic that awakens ancient magic. The next minute, you fall in the middle of a horror film, making your way through a haunted house. Then you’re in a spaceship, on a mission to take down enemies across space. Welcome to the ever-growing advance in the world of VR, you can traverse galaxies, empires, kingdoms, and worlds- all from the comfort of your living room. And now, thanks to the continuing efforts of the Maker Movement, it costs almost nothing to experience it. At the 2014 Google, I/O developer's conference last June splash a kit containing pre-cut cardboard along with a pair of lens, some magnets, and a few other parts. After assembly, these bits into a homespun virtual reality viewer called Google Cardboard.

This is easy to make a VR headset. You will be very excited with 360-degree videos available on YouTube. Virtual reality with this incredible VR headsets is here. Virtual reality is an immersive experience in which your head movements are tracked in a three-dimensional world, making it suitable for games and even movies.

Building Guide

Materials and tools used in this project are


Assembly of the casing made up of cardboard. Use glue gun for the fix joint.

Lens Setting

Assemble the rest casing of the VR box

Mobile Holder Making

Take a marker, mark the position on the cardboard and after that fix the magnet at the marked place using a fix well.

Take a velcro strap and paste it on the market place as shown in the figure.

Attach the mobile in the holder slot and start enjoying the virtual world.
